EAST AFRICA YOUTH PARLIAMENTA youth platform to engage more proactively
East Africa Youth Parliament was conceptualised in in November 2007, during the East African Community Youth Summit under the auspices of the East Africa community. The Kenyan chapter was subsequently registered under the Societies Act.
EAYP was formed to identify, debate and lobby for issues involving the youth, in the context of their development as well as in the context of shared issues in the common identity of the EAC. It also acts as a youth platform to engage more proactively in policies and activities that affect the youth in particular as well as the society in general. This will enable them participate in crafting a vibrant destiny for the region.
Towards a fully integrated East African Community where it young people are empowered to fully participate and benefit in all facets of the region’s development.
