EAYP is a regional youth organization affiliated with the East African Community (EAC), founded to empower young people in governance, leadership, entrepreneurship, human rights, climate action, and regional development.

We have different requirements for the different categories.

  1. Ordinary members – Anyone who is aged between 18-35 years.
  2. Associate membership – those aged between 35 to 40 years.
  3. Affiliate membership – these are organizations that have functional interests focused on youth and are interested in EAYP activities.
  4. Honorary membership – these are passionate about young people and have contributed immensely to youth development through private or public activities.
  5. Corporate membership – these are partners and supporters of East Africa Youth Parliament.

EAYP amplifies youth voices in policy conversations, organizes leadership and governance programs, supports advocacy initiatives, and facilitates youth participation in EAC regional integration efforts.

EAYP runs programs in leadership development, governance training, entrepreneurship, climate and environmental engagement, human rights advocacy, and youth-centered research and policy dialogues.

Yes. Most programs are open to youth from the six EAC member states. Some specialized trainings may have specific eligibility requirements that will be indicated in program announcements.

Absolutely. EAYP partners with government ministries, development agencies, UN bodies, and civil society groups to strengthen youth participation and implement impactful regional initiatives.

You can join by completing the membership application form on the website. Once submitted, the EAYP team will review your application and contact you with next steps.

Members gain access to regional conferences, leadership trainings, policy forums, advocacy opportunities, mentorship, networking with youth leaders, and participation in EAC-related engagements.

Yes. EAYP offers periodic volunteer and internship opportunities. Announcements are shared via the website and our social media platforms. You may also contact us directly to express interest.

Institutions can collaborate with EAYP on youth programs, policy initiatives, events, research, or community development projects. Interested organizations can reach out through our contact page or email.

Yes. EAYP often provides mentorship, capacity-building, networks, and advocacy platforms for youth-led initiatives. Some programs may also include grants or resource support depending on availability.
